We are a creative design firm led by principal Julie Moir Messervy, working collaboratively with planners, architects, landscape architects, artists and engineers on a wide range of selected projects. Our work spans the continuum of landscape design from intimate gardens to large-scale parks and master plans.
Inspiration
The firm draws its inspiration from Ms. Messervy’s philosophy that gardens and parks can be soul-nurturing places, oases deeply rooted in outdoor archetypes, childhood imagination and aesthetic impulses. The team strives to create unique destinations that touch the visitor in an evocative way, that will be remembered and revisited, and that speak to the essence of the natural and historical features of the place.

Unearthing Your Inward Garden – Conceptual Design
We work closely with our clients throughout the design process, beginning with proprietary visioning and brainstorming exercises that help us unearth their unique inward garden to be crafted within the landscape.
The Dream on Paper – Schematic Design/Design Development
Ideas are refined and translated into illustrative, hand-drawn renderings of a design that flows and links together stimulating elements to reflect both the client’s and designer’s inward garden.
Shepherding Installation – Construction Observation
Ensuring perfection during the installation, JMMDS becomes onsite consultants to shepherd and craft the many details that turn the dream into reality.
